Winter Wonderland

So it seems like my latest post was not supposed to be the last before my holyday break...I have another little thing to show you before I leave for Ireland

A brand new experiment with gouache colours that I realized for an illustration contest about sports:

I know we're in August, so this may look a bit out of season...But I'm longing for snow, to be sincere...Aren't you?

By the way, seems like I still have a lot to learn about this techinique, but I'm having fun going on step by step!

And this time I also realized a relatively detailed black&white sketch...That is definitely not tipically me, since I usually draw very quickly on rough pieces of paper...But this time (and I sincerely do not know why) I prepared a sketch that could be worth posting here on the blog, and so...Have a look:

My interview for Roba da Disegnatori!!

This is a very special place for all of us illustrators, comic artists and art lovers!
The blog is born right after after the success of the original facebook page , in order to keep all those precious inputs, inspirations and ideas in a safe place, where everybody can always find them ♥
The genius behind it all is called Morena Forza, a great fellow artist and a new friend!
I loved answering to her questions, I had a lot of fun, thank you Morena!!!

Another precious resource, a place where you can find reviews and links to the facebook pages and on-line store of visual artists from all around the globe...And I still can't believe my eyes when I read the magical words they wrote about me...My heart melts everytime!!

And so facebook won its battle against me, in the end...Or instead it is art that won its battle against facebook?
I don't know, but in the end the thruth is that it became one of my favourite places to find new artists and daily inspirations!!

Oh, well...

Ah! Another quick note before I go: Due to my absence my etsy shop will be closed for vacation and inventory until October 1st (that is why now you probably see a blank column here on the right), but don't worry...I'll be right back with a whole bunch of yummy-ummy news!!!

E così si direbbe che il mio post della scorsa volta non era destinato ad esser l'ultimo prima del mio stop per le vacanze..Ho un'altra piccola cosa da mostrarvi prima di partire per l'Irlanda

Un nuovo esperimento con le tempere, realizzato per un concorso d'illustrazione sullo sport:

So che siamo in Agosto, dunque potrebbe apparire leggermente fuori stagione...ma io ho una gran voglia di neve...Voi no?
Ad ogni modo, sembra che io abbia ancora molto da imparare riguardo a questa tecnica, ma mi sto divertendo ad andare avanti passo-passo!

E questa volta ho persino realizzato uno schizzo in bianco e nero relativamente dettagliato...Non è assolutamente tipico di me, dato che io generalmente realizzo schizzi molto veloci su dei pezzacci di carta...Ma questa volta (e onestamente non ne conosco il motivo) ho preparato uno schizzo che potrebbe valer la pena di mostrare qui sul blog, e così...Date un'occhiata:

Non saprei proprio, so soltanto che oramai facebook è il mio posto preferito dove scovare nuovi artisti ed inspirazioni gornaliere!!

Ah! Un'altra rapida nota prima di andare: A causa della mia assenza il mio etsy shop resterà chiuso per vacanze ed inventario fino al 1° Ottobre (ecco il motivo per cui ora probabilmente vedete una colonna bianca qui sulla destra), ma niente paura...Tornerò con una montagna di novità super-gustose!!!

We spent a delicious week surrounded by friends and a stunning wonderful sea

My book Tessie La Tisseuse is finally finished!!!

Occhio all'arte magazine feature...and troubles!

It's hot...Oh boy, it's way too hot in here...

And it's clear I'm not the only one who's suffering for it: After 6 years of faithful work and brotherhood, my monitor abandoned me...


I can't say he did not send me any advice...He started "getting creative" a month ago, creating strange stripes and colours when I turned it on...But today it was way too hot, even for him, and he said goodbye with a striped rgb rainbow all over the screen...Rest in peace my pixel friend!


...So, the fact is that now I'm writing from my notebook, and I'm doing it because I wanted to show you this awesome magazine feature!!!

It's from the italian magazine "Occhio all'arte" , I had my very first face-to-face interview for this feature...I feel like a star!!

...Ah! By the way, this weather (or whatever) caused another trouble too: I had to delete the beloved cookie emoticons from the comments!
Seems like they where causing a bunch of troubles for Internet Explorer users...Sigh!

Leaving me a comment was becoming impossible...And your words are much more important to me!!

Unfortunately, even now that I ate all those lovely cookies in your comments, Internet Explorer users may notice an error when they try to leave me a message: it happens only at the first attempt, try again a second time and your message will reach me!
(please drop me a note via e-mail if you still find can't send me comments, I'll do my best to fix the problem!)

...Ah! Fra parentesi, questo caldo (o qualunque cosa sia) ha creato anche un'altro guaio: Ho dovuto cancellare le emoticon-biscottino dai commenti!!

Sembrava stessero creando un bel pò di problemi per coloro che usano Internet explorer...Sigh!
