Eccomi qui, direttamente dal caldo infernale della città in cui vivo, Bologna, per augurare a tutti -nonostante i 39° C all'ombra- una felice estate, con un nuova illustrazione marittima:

E una bella novità: da oggi sono ufficialmente rappresentata come illustratrice da Deborah Wolfe per IllustrationOnLine!

Avere qualcuno al tuo fianco che ti accompagna e ti supporta professionalmente è una bellissima sensazione...Vi lascio dunque al sole di questo torrido agosto, piena di entusiasmo, di buoni propositi e di nuovi lavori in cantiere...E per chi di voi partirà, buon viaggio e buone vacanze!!

Here I am, coming straight from the infernal heat of this city where I live in, Bologna, to wish everyone -despite the 102.2° F- a happy summer with a new sea-themed illustration.
And with great news: from now on I'm officially represented as an illustrator by Deborah Wolfe for her agency IllustrationOnLine!

Having someone by your side to accompany and support you professionally is such a wonderful feeling!
So now I leave you in the sun then this torrid August, full of enthusiasm, good intentions and new jobs in the pipeline...And for those of you leaving, have a safe journey and happy holidays!

Off on Adventure

Una nuova illustrazione, un nuovo esperimento.
Per orientarmi nella mia ricerca stilistica e tecnica con la pittura digitale, ho deciso di ispirarmi a delle foto: immagini scorte per caso e di sfuggita nella rete, che mi fanno venir voglia di metter mano alle matite e reinterpretarle in una nuova chiave.

La prima illustrazione di questa serie è stata "La piccola guardiana d'oche", ed ora ho completato un nuovo pezzo, un piccolo tributo al mio amico peloso ed alla mia continua voglia di viaggiare:

Penso che continuerò su questa strada per un po', mi piace il modo in cui i soggetti fotografici mi aiutano a focalizzare la mia attenzione non sul cosa ma sul come, che è ciò che ho intenzione di approfondire in questo momento...Sempre che il mio sabotatore ufficiale me lo permetta!!

eng: A new illustration, a new experiment.

To help myself in my stylistic and technical research with digital painting, I decided to get some inspiration from photographs: random images I stumble upon browsing the network, which make me want to dip into the pencils and reidraw them in a new key.

The first illustration of this series was "The Goose girl", and now I have just finished a new piece, a small tribute to my new furry friend and to my constant desire to travel: "Off on Adventure".I think I will continue on this path for a while, I like the way the photos help me to focus my attention not on what but on how, which is exactly what I need to explore right now...If my official saboteur allows me to do it!!

A new beginning

Dunque eccomi qua, dopo un lasso di tempo interminabile.

Sono davvero una pessima blogger impenitente...ma del resto non sono mai stata abbastanza brava da tenere neanche un diario segreto: li ho sempre amati tanto, ne ho iniziati tantissimi, ma non riuscivo mai a tenerne uno in maniera regolare...Non credo nemmeno di averne mai terminato uno!

Dunque mi perdonerete se con questo blog, per quanto io lo ami, sono un po' latitante...Ci sono stati tanti grandi cambiamenti dall'ultima volta in cui ho scritto qui: primo su tutti mi sono trasferita a vivere a Bologna con il mio ragazzo.

E' una bellissima città, la amo, amo la mia casetta, amo tutti gli sconvolgimenti grandi e piccoli che un nuovo inizio comporta.

Anche per le mie illustrazioni voglio che questo sia un nuovo inizio, e questo è il mio primo passo nella nuova direzione:

eng: So here I am, after an enormous amount of time.

I am a really unrepentant bad blogger...But after all then I've never even been good enough to keep a secret diary: I have always loved them so much, I've started writing a lot of them, but I could never keep one on a regular basis...Nor I can remember I had never finished one!

So forgive me if, even if I love this blog, I'm a little absent... There have been many great changes since the last time I wrote here: first of all, I moved to live in Bologna with my boyfriend.

It's a lovely city, I love it, I love my new house, I love all the big and small challenges that come with a new beginning.

I want this to be a new beginning for my illustrative work too, and this is my first step in this new direction.
