|"The Snail and the Rose Tree"|
eng: As I have said many times in previous posts, I'm in a period of growth and experimentation: I need to renew, to throw the windows open wide and let a storm of fresh air revolutionize everything that was there before in favor of the new.
That's for this reason that I decided to enroll in the online course at Lilla Rogers Studio School.
And it's great.
It 'amazing how all my foundations are falling apart and reassembling themselves from time to time, looking at issues and markets that are completely unknown to me.
First it was the turn of the illustrations for bolt fabric.
Then it was home decor (dinnerware).
Both lots of fun and destabilizing, I never measured yself with anything like that: I can say I have enough confidence in my taste for color, but I still have a lot to learn about the stylization of elements in a functional way, iconographicly and efficiently.
And then it was the turn of the illustration of children's books.
This time I was in my comfort zone (apart from the question of the lettering by hand, with which I have no confidence at all), but for this reason I wanted to put myself to the test anyway, pushing further the new style experimentation and the new technique, digital painting, and trying a whole new palette of colors...Oh, if I had fun!
I am posting some pictures of the work in progress (both characters, especially the snail, have undergone various evolutions and changes).
And this is the final result.
Sometimes I wonder how this changes of mine can be perceived from outside...I personally feel that I'm growing up, a lot, and quickly.
And it's destabilizing from a certain point of view, but on the other hand is very exciting, it feels great!
So I will update soon with new the exercises...In the meantime I and Rino the cat and are also working on the new collection of jewelry, because, did you know?... I will exhibit in Riminicomix 2013 from July 18 to 21!
So I have a lot of new stuff to prepare...Would you come and see me?
