Back home...By the Power of GreySkull!!

Hallo you!!!

After this long absence for my winter holidays (***absolutely wonderful winter holidays***) I'm finally back home, with a luggage full of dreams, cristmas carols, hopes and projects for the new year!!

First of all, let me tell you about the upcoming collective artshow at Gallery 1988....I'm so excited about that!!!

"Under the influence: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe"

Ok....How amazing is that? Not only I adore this gallery, but I have actually grown with the characters of He-Man and She-Ra, I can clearly recall the toys and those cool and colourful ads on Mickey Mouse magazine...The idea of this show is way too fun!!

I must admit that the style of the cartoon probably could not be more different than mine (not to mention the awful sense of colur compositon they had in the 80's...Agh!!) but that was the funnies thing of it all!!

And now...let me show you a glance of my winter holidays in New York City!!!


That's such an amazing city: always in a rush, full of lights, enoooormous toy stores (yayyy!!), squirrels, snow...
For an european girl like me, a city like this may not feel like home (like Paris does, for example), but being a stranger in town has never been so amazing before!
American culture is so young compared to "the Continent", but they make such a great effort in supporting contemporary art and architecture, we truly have a lesson to learn!
And the Tim Burton exhibit at MoMa?? OH MY GOSH!!! I have no words for that but: Do not miss it if you can!! Run to NYC and see it if you take the chance (it is open until April 26)!!

It's place so full of life...So many things to do in such a little time!
For example? Dancing on the Big Piano at Fao Schwarz and meeting Santa at Macy's (oh my Gosh!! I did it for real!!! Now I can die in peace)
Oh, how I wish to come back and see more and more!!

It's not been a shopaholic holiday for me, as they say it often happens when tourists visit the Big Apple...But it's been a great chance to find a bunch of great presents, for the ones I love...And for me too
Let me introduce you my Christmas present from my boyfriend: Rockabilly Barbie!!!!!

Ok....Ma che idea favolosa è? Non solo io adoro questa galleria, ma sono realmente cresciuta con i personaggi di He-Man e She-Ra, mi ricordo benissimo i giocattoli e le immagini pubblicitarie della Mattel sul giornale di Topolino...Il tema di questa mostra è troppo divertente!!

Devo ammettere che lo stile del cartone non potrebbe essere più diverso dal mio (Senza contare l'orrido senso del colore che avevano negli anni 80...Agh!!) ma proprio quella è stata la parte più divertente!!

Ed ora lasciate che vi racconti un pò delle le mie vacanze di Natale a New York City!!!

E' una città fantastica: senpre di corsa, piena di luci, enoooooormi negozi di giocattoli (yayyy!!), scoitattoli, neve...
Per una ragazza europea come me, una città come questa può non avere un'aria accogliente efamiliare (come invece è Parigi, ad esempio), ma essere una straniera in città non è mai stato così divertente!
La cultura americana è così giovane paragonata al "Continente", ma investono così tanto nell'arte contemporanea e nell'architettura, abbiamo davvero qualcosa da imparare!
E la mostra di Tim Burton al MoMa?? OH MIO DIO!!! Non ho davvero parole per descriverla a parte: Non perdetevela se potete!! Correte a New York e godetevela se ne avete l'occasione (la mostra durerà fino al 26 Aprile)!!

E' un posto così pieno di vita...Così tante cose da fare e in così poco tempo!
Ad esempio? Saltellare sul Big Piano a Fao Schwarz ae incontrare Babbo Natale da Macy's (oddio!! L'ho fatto sul serio!!! Ora posso morire in pace!)
Non vedo l'ora di poter tornare e vedere ancora di più!!

Non è stata una vacanza all'insegna dello shopping per me, come si dice spesso accada per i turisti che visitano la Grande Mela...Ma è stata un'ottima occasione per trovare un mucchio di bei regali per le persone che amo...E anche per me!
